Description: According to SECTION 4.102 GENERAL COORDINATION ISSUESof the Polk County Comprehensive Plan:Polk County will continue to work with municipalities within the County and other local governmental entities to identify appropriate Joint Planning Areas (JPA), and to enter into and implement inter-local agreements dealing with issues of mutual concern. The following items shall be discussed with each jurisdiction to determine their relevance for incorporating into a JPA:The Comprehensive Plan Map Series herein shall contain a map depicting the boundaries of all such current Joint Planning Areas, entitled “Joint Planning Area Agreement Map,” which shall be updated as necessary to ensure its accuracy. Additional policies throughout the Polk County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code provide guidance for development and preservation areas within a Joint Planning Area within the un-incorporated areas of Polk County. This is one dataset used to create the “Polk County Comprehensive Plan Map Series”. It must be interpreted in conjunction with the other data and maps of the series along with the objectives and policies of the “Polk County Comprehensive Plan” as adopted and amended by the Polk County Board of County Commissioners. The most current Comprehensive Plan documents can be viewed on the county's website at http://www.polk-county.net/compplan.
